What's the appropriate age to take the Electric Shock collar off your kid?
I read in Puppy Digest Aprils issue that its a good idea to put a shock collar on a new born. My son's 10 years and hes always... hold on... OFF THE COUCH JERRY!!! be right back... he's convulsing.
I think you have the voltage set too high. However at proper voltage the child can safely wear the collar until 18 years of age or whenever it is that he is considered a legal adult.
They aren't highly efficient though. It's a really hit and miss thing. If you don't zap at the right moment it can derail a lot of years of learning with one current.
I assume you are well versed in the usage of it however so continue with your training
