How do i get tree sap off my car window!?
tree sap is stuck on the front window of my car. not realizing what it was, i turned on the windshield wiper (with fluid) and smeared it all over the place!! i need to know whats the best way to remove it without scratching my windshield. PLEASE HELP!!
Since SO MANY got it wrong, and only ONE got it right, I better give you the answer.
Lacquer thinner, paint thinner, acetone, rubbing alcohol will all remove it. In the order I listed, from easiest to hardest. No matter what is used, always re-wax the area after wards, as the chemical will strip the area of any wax or polish. On glass, either some wax or good window cleaner is needed, as these chemicals can leave a smear like effect on glass.
DO NOT use brake fluid, carburetor cleaner, WD-40, etc on or near any paint of a car. Those tricks work for cars that are made from 1982 and earlier, not the paint on cars of today. These chemicals will burn through todays finishes in a matter of minutes to hours.
